Google has created a new search tool designed to help veterans find civilian jobs when they leave the military. Service members can search ‘jobs for veterans‘ on Google and then enter their specific military job codes (MOS, AFSC, NEC, etc.) to see relevant civilian jobs that require similar skills to those used in their military roles.

An Expungement Clinic will take place on November 8, 2018, from 12 - 4 P.M. at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky 5828 S. Hwy. 27 Somerset, Kentucky.
Expungement is the legal process where an arrest, charge or conviction is completely removed from your record. In Kentucky, if you do not ask for expungement, the arrest, charge or conviction will stay on your criminal history. This means that any time an employer does a background check, the conviction will show up. This can hurt job opportunities, school or educational opportunities and even some government assistance programs. Expungement gives you a clean slate.
The following resources will be available FREE OF CHARGE:
This clinic is presented by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, the Kentucky Corrections Department, and The Kentucky Career Center - Cumberlands.

University of the Cumberlands, a private, post-secondary institution in southeastern Kentucky, announced today that it will reduce tuition by 57 percent beginning next academic year. The goal of the tuition cut is to increase the affordability of a private education at Cumberlands while offering more transparency in the financial aid process for students and families.
Under the new pricing model, Cumberlands will offer the lowest tuition of any private university in Kentucky and also offer tuition comparable to every public four-year institution in the state. The tuition plan will impact all on-campus undergraduate students.
“We are making this change because we are committed to putting our students and families first by addressing the most significant hurdle to a college education, affordability,” said Cumberlands President, Dr. Larry L. Cockrum. “We want all students to know that with Cumberlands there is a clear and affordable path to a college degree.”
