FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 2, 2018) – The Kentucky HEALTH (Helping to Engage and Achieve Long-Term Health) leadership team will be in Somerset Thursday to share information and updates regarding the state’s innovative Medicaid waiver program. The visit is part of a series of stakeholder forums held around the Commonwealth to keep citizens informed about Kentucky HEALTH and its potential impact to Medicaid beneficiaries, the healthcare community, employers and other stakeholders.

The Somerset forum will begin at 1 p.m. (EST), Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, and will be held in the Center for Rural Development Ballroom, 2292 US-27 #300, Somerset, KY 42501.

Please continue to check the program’s website, kentuckyhealth.ky.gov for updates about upcoming stakeholder forums and other information related to the Kentucky HEALTH program.

Two additional stakeholder forums are scheduled to take place in Frankfort later this year. Kentucky HEALTH staff will keep the public updated on any news or schedule changes regarding these events.

Governor Matt Bevin unveiled the demonstration waiver known as Kentucky HEALTH on June 22, 2016. Since then, the Commonwealth has incorporated valuable feedback from consumers, providers, advocates and other stakeholders in developing the program.

Kentucky HEALTH is an innovative approach that will put Kentuckians on a path to better health and is key to ensuring the long-term viability of the Medicaid program. In addition, Kentucky HEALTH will ensure availability of Medicaid resources to our most vulnerable citizens. Additional information is available at http://chfs.ky.gov/.

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services is home to most of the state's human services and healthcare programs, including the Department for Medicaid Services, the Department for Community Based Services the Department for Public Health, the Department for Aging and Independent Living and the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. CHFS is one of the largest agencies in state government, with nearly 8,000 full- and part-time employees located across the Commonwealth focused on improving the lives and health of Kentuckians.
