Kentucky National Career Readiness Certification
Research has shown a clear gap between skills of our nation’s workforce and the basic skill needs of employers. To reduce the cost of remedial training and lost efficiency, more employers are implementing pre-employment assessments to identify these skills prior to hiring.
The Kentucky National Career Readiness Certificate (KY NCRC) is a credential based upon the WorkKeys assessments that substantiate to employers that an individual possesses the basic workplace skills required for 21st Century jobs.
As an employer in Kentucky, you should be aware of this powerful new tool designed to reduce your overhead through more effective and efficient screening of applicants for open positions. The Kentucky National Career Readiness Certificate (KY NCRC) is proven to also reduce the cost associated with turnover by helping you make hiring and promotional decisions by having better insight into an applicant’s work readiness.
The KY NCRC, a product of ACT, demonstrates a person’s work-readiness level. Small and large businesses have experienced dramatic drops in turnover after using NCRC as a screening tool for many of their jobs. The objective insight provided into the job candidates helps make better hires, as well as spending less on training and retaining employees long term.
Even if an individual has a high school diploma (or GED) or a post secondary degree, the KY NCRC further verifies that the worker can handle tasks that are common and vital in today’s workplaces.
The KY NCRC verifies to employers anywhere in the United States that an individual has essential core employability skills in Reading, Math, and Locating Information.
